The are three things to consider when choosing nutritional supplements for your eyes:
1. How important the visual system is to the body.
2. What ingredients - vitamins, minerals and herbs - are in the supplement.
3. The amount of each ingredient contained in the supplement.
1. The visual system - the eyes, nerves, muscles and processing centers in the brain - consume over 30% of the oxygen we breathe and more than 25% of the nutrition that we take in. A truly healthy body leads to a healthy visual system; a healthy visual system is the result of a healthy body. The eyes do not exist in isolation. The vitamins we take cannot magically be made to go to the eyes alone. (There's one exception to this rule - see below.) Beware of any supplements that make claims to the contrary.
2. Study the list of ingredients in the EYEMAX-plus formula. You'll find EVERYTHING known to be necessary for the health of the body and the eyes.
3. You MIGHT find another formula that contains most of these ingredients, but you have to look deeper. What are the AMOUNTS of each ingredient? The amounts of the individual ingredients in EYEMAX-plus are the amounts your body and your eyes require. This is particularly true of the anti-oxidants and the minerals.
