Customer Survey A survey was conducted of 409 people who completed the 8-week routine in The Program for Better Vision. |
A Clinical Trial of The Program for Better Vision® The Cambridge Institute for Better Vision conducted a study to evaluate the methods and techniques that form the basis of The Program for Better Vision.
Subjects And Methods
25 adults volunteered for the study. There were 21 myopes and 4 presbyopes (middle-age sight). The subjects represented a mixture of low, medium and high degrees of correction. No subject had any ocular diseases - cataracts, macular degeneration or glaucoma. Each subject was examined by an optometrist at the start of the 8-week period and a prescription was written. Each subject spent 20 minutes a day (6 days a week) practicing the techniques, exercises and visualizations from The Program for Better Vision. Subjects were instructed to use their glasses or contacts for as few hours a day as was comfortable. Subjects were also instructed in, and told to practice, good visual habits while engaged in regular daily activities. At the conclusion of the 8-week period, each subject was examined again by the same optometrist and a prescription was given for the subject's current visual status.
Results
Pre and post prescriptions for each subject were compared. There was an average of 31% reduction in prescription strength for myopes. For presbyopes, the average reduction in prescription strength was 44%. Every subject showed some degree of improvement. The minimum reduction was 10% and the maximum reduction was 60%. In addition, most subjects report subjective measures of improvement: eyes feeling more relaxed, less dependency on glasses, colors seemed brighter, greater ease in eye movements, etc. Only refractive errors were compared. Astigmatism and prisms were not measured. There was no pre-screening all subjects, regardless of initial degree of refractive error - were accepted into the study.
